Portsmouth's unbeaten run in the Championship comes to an end at the hands of Stoke City at Fratton Park.

Despite Tyrese Shade giving Portsmouth an early lead, second half goals from Jack McGlynn and Ben Wilmot were enough for The Potters to comeback and win their 5th away match in-a-row.

The defeat means that John Mousinho’s side for drop to 11th in the Championship, although that could change subject to the results in the 3pm kick-off results.

Mousinho made 2 changes to the side that earned that impressive last-gasp win at home to Swansea in midweek.

Captain Marlon Pack returned to the side, and Abu Kamara for Marko Milovanović, with Shade moving up top.

Portsmouth started off on the front foot, showing real intensity and aggression, and the Blues were rewarded for their early efforts.

Shade’s corner aimed for Terry Devlin was intercepted by a camouflaged shirt; however, the ball fell back to Shade, who curled the ball into the bottom left-hand corner to open the score and his account on the south coast.

Mousinho’s men kept the tempo to its maximum, and came close to a second on several occasions, with a notable effort from Pack from around 25 yards out, just going over the bar.

Regan Poole was left in all sorts of space in a right-winger's position, but the Welsh defender’s low hit at goal was hit straight at Viktor Johansson.

HALF-TIME: Portsmouth 1-0 Stoke City

Even though the Blues managed to have an encouraging start to the second 45, Mark Robins found a way to manage his side into the game.

Ben Johnson’s deep ball to the back post was lopped back into play on the byline by sub Luca Bombino, who was able to slide the ball across to his American counterpart McGlynn, who sliced the ball in to make it 1-1.

Down the other end, Shade launched a long throw into the box, where the ball was cleared as far as Odin Bailey, whose effort deflected over the crossbar.

Thomas Waddingham replaced Adrian Segečić, while Zak Swanson and Rocco Robert Shein also came on for Jayden Meghoma and Pack with 15 to go.

But it was the visitors who found the winner with just over 10 minutes to go via Wilmot.

Ethan Galbraith’s long-range shot was parried away by Nicolas Schmid, but it was too late for Pompey to make a second contact with the ball, as Wilmot ran into the space to nod the ball home and make it 2-1.

Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Josh Murphy were the two final subs moments after the goal, but despite Pompey’s best efforts and five minutes of added time, it was Stoke who managed to seal the 3 points.
