🐣 Michael & Hilary Whitehall: Easter Eggs, World Tours… and a Bit of Portsmouth Love
There are some double acts that just work… and then there’s Michael Whitehall and Hilary Whitehall.
Best known to many as the brilliantly entertaining parents of Jack Whitehall, the pair joined me on The MarshyCast for a conversation that quickly turned into something between a travel diary, a family debate… and a masterclass in dry humour.
We started with a very important question. Are you ever really too old to receive an Easter egg? Their answer… not at all. Although, as they explained, there are rules. If it gets too expensive, don’t be surprised if they expect to buy it back off you.
Naturally, the conversation drifted into their “worldwide” tour… which, it turns out, comes with some fairly strict geographical limits. Let’s just say they’re happiest when it doesn’t stray too far north.
There were also tales of travel mishaps, including a moment involving Singapore and Australia that proves even the most seasoned travellers can get things slightly… misplaced.
Beyond the laughs, we also talked about family, performance, and the unique dynamic they bring to the stage together. It’s that mix of warmth and wonderfully dry wit that’s made them such a hit with audiences.
And in a lovely moment closer to home, they also shared their fondness for Portsmouth… which, of course, went down very well.
If you’re after a conversation that feels like sitting in on a very funny family chat… this one’s well worth your time.
