Goalkeeper Will Norris has today been confirmed as Pompey's first signing of the summer transfer window.

29-year-old Norris joins the Blues on a 3-year deal, having left Burnley as a free agent following the conclusion of the 2022/23 campaign.

The shot-stopper spent the second half of last season on loan at Peterborough United, helping The Posh to reach the League One Play-Offs.

Norris started his professional career with spells at Hatfield and Royston before being snapped up by Cambridge United, with whom he helped guide back to the Football League. He also appeared at Wembley in March 2014 when The U's defeated Gosport Borough by 4 goals to nil in the Final of The FA Trophy.

Pompey head coach John Mousinho told club officials: "Will's an experienced goalkeeper and played a lot of games last season, while also has experience of both the Premier League and Championship.

"He comes here with a really good pedigree and will be looking to cement his place in the Pompey team.

"Everyone knows it was a position we wanted a permanent player for after last season and so we're delighted to bring him to the South Coast."
