We're on our way to Wembley!

A volley from David Wheeler saw the blues progress into the semi finals of the EFL Trophy.

A floodlight Fratton Park hosted a slightly earlier kick off for the quarter finals for the Checkatrade Trophy. Portsmouth were up against fellow League One side, Peterborough, who are also fighting for promotion this season, currently in sixth place.

Pompey came into this one off the back of two league defeats. A great oppourtunity to get back to winning ways.

A fairly even first half saw a handful of chances. The best chance for Pompey came from David Wheeler who was denied by the posh keeper.

A better second half performance from Pompey though, they were lucky not to concede at one point. They snatched it at the death, a corner from Gareth Evans was met by QPR loanee David Wheeler, who fired Pompey into the semi finals of the EFL Trophy.
