Jake Smith looks into the Blues' next Championship opponent.
After a week off, Portsmouth prepare for a trip to Turf Moor, where an underperforming Burnley await.
MANAGER
Appointed only this week, 50-year-old Fabio Celestini is now at the helm of The Clarets following the sacking of Nicky Hayen last Saturday night.
The former Getafe midfielder has never managed in England before this appointment, spending the vast majority of his managerial career so far in his homeland Switzerland, however was more recently in charge of CSKA Moscow in Russia.
ONE TO WATCH
Belgian wide attacker Largie Ramazani is a player the Blues will need to try and keep quiet this weekend.
He plays predominantly on the right-hand side in a formation similar to Pompey’s and joined The Clarets on loan from Leeds United in the summer, since scoring 2 goals in 9 appearances.
Former Leicester City and England striker and Premier League champion Jamie Vardy has also recently been added to the club's ranks but is 50/50 for this weekend's match.
TOP SCORER
In the league, Burnley’s leading scorer is Swiss forward Zeki Amdouni.
The 25-year-old, who signed for the club from Lausanne-Sport in the summer of 2023, has bagged 3 Championship goals but has missed the last 3 matches nursing an ankle injury.
CURRENT FORM
The Clarets have managed just 1 win from their 12 Championship fixtures so far and currently sit 22nd in the relegation zone, 3 points from safety.
That victory was by a scoreline of 4 goals to nil away at Watford 4 games ago.
Last time out, in what proved to be Nicky Hayen’s final match in charge, Burnley suffered a 4-1 defeat away at Lincoln City.
It has been over a year since The Clarets won a home fixture - The longest winless run of any side on home soil in professional English football league history.
Can the Blues keep up their good run of recent form, or will it be Burnley who claim victory and take full advantage of the new manager bounce?
Join Jake Smith and Danny Thompson LIVE on Express FM from Turf Moor from 2pm on Saturday (October 31st) for all of the unmissable action.
Kick-off: 3pm!
