Portsmouth extended their unbeaten run to 5 matches after an uninspiring encounter with The Clarets in Lancashire.
Despite captain Marlon Pack putting the ball in the net in the first 45, the Blues had to settle for a point at Turf Moor against Burnley.
The result means that John Mousinho’s side move up to 11th in the Championship on 19 points.
With another six to play for between now and the international break, with two fixtures in a row both in PO4, at home to Swansea City on Tuesday, then Stoke City in an early kick-off next Saturday.
Mousinho made one change to the side that defeated Millwall at Fratton Park last Saturday.
Jayden Meghoma replaced Terry Devlin, with Zak Swanson moving back to right-back.
And duo of Connor Shaughnessy and Josh Murphy returned to the match-day squad on the bench.
Pompey did in fact have the ball in the back of the net early on through Pack, who tapped in a rebounded corner.
However, the goal was disallowed by referee Ruebyn Ricardo after an apparent foul on the Burnley keeper Grégoire Coudert by Ryan Kavuma-McQueen.
Nicolas Schmid was called into action in quick succession, when he first denied former England international Kyle Walker, and moments later then Andréas Hountondji’s effort from point-blank range.
HALF-TIME: Burnley 0-0 Portsmouth
The Blues made five of the five possible changes in the second 45, with the likes of Ebou Adams, Tyrese Shade, Terry Devlin, Thomas Waddingham, and even Murphy, who came on for his first appearance since that win away at Lincoln back in August.
Fabio Celestini's side probably had the most encouraging attempt on goal in the second half, as Leeds United loanee Largie Ramazani almost took advantage of Schmid's error, but Pack was there to make the block.
Even with three minutes of additional time, neither side could find a breakthrough, as both the Clarets and the Blues settled for a point apiece.
