Midfielder Rocco Shein signs from Norwegian outfit Fredrikstad for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in excess of £2million.

The 22-year-old has agreed a 3-year deal on the South Coast so is contracted until the summer of 2029.

Shein is an Estonian international and has already made 25 senior appearances for his country since making his debut in a friendly stalemate with Albania back in 2022.

Speaking of his side's third summer signing, Blues boss John Mousinho said: "We’re delighted to continue our summer transfer activity with the signing of Rocco.

“He will provide us with plenty of physicality in the centre of the pitch, but is also someone who is very comfortable on the ball.

“Rocco has already made a great deal of progress over the past few years and is still young, so we feel he can continue to improve with us.”

According to Norwegian football reporter Erlend Borren Kristoffersen from i TV 2 Sporten, a figure of 28 million Kroner was agreed between the 2 clubs for the transfer, which equates to approximately £2.14million.

Shein joins Odin Bailey and Eoin Kenny as Pompey's summer 2026 arrivals so far. Further reports suggest that the club are also interested in Marko "Marezi" Milovanović, who could sign any day following weeks of links and the only barrier now supposedly being international clearance.

Wellington Phoenix (New Zealand) midfielder Luke Brooke-Smith is also being touted as an imminent arrival, according to The News, Portsmouth.
