About John
I grew up in Portsmouth and have lived in the city all of my life, From working on the family fruit and veg barrow down Charlotte Street, filming the BBC1 show "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is' around the city, and running my auction business Nesbits in Southsea I feel blessed to have born in the city and love the rich history and characters of its past and present times.
Favourite Song - Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones.
Favourite Gig - U2 at the o2 Arena with my son Scott in 2019.
Favourite Film - Once Upon a Time in America, great story and directed by Sergio Leone, superb cast in De Niro and James Woods, and a beautiful music score by Ennio Morircone. A seminal piece of work!
Favourite Place in Portsmouth - Fratton Park! So many memories, good and bad, from being a kid watching the blues in Division 4 during the 1970s to the highs of the Premier League and watching Pompey lift the FA cup with my son. Priceless!
