🎙️ It’s The MarshyCast!
Welcome to the latest episode of The MarshyCast—my final one before a well-earned week off. So, if you usually tune in to my radio shows on Express FM or HGV1 Radio... DO NOT do that next week! Only joking—of course you should! They’re still brilliant stations even without me.
In the meantime, you’ve got plenty of MarshyCast episodes to keep you company. Why not dig back through some of the incredible guests I’ve chatted to recently? There are also a few episodes with my new co-host Casey Major Bunce, and loads of great interviews on the Portsmouth People Podcast too.
This week’s episode is all about the stage—and the amazing people who light it up!
🎭 Vivienne Carlyle joins me to chat about her role in the legendary musical Blood Brothers. With over 40 years of history and even a place in the school curriculum, this show holds a special place in so many hearts. Vivienne told me what it means to her to be a part of it, what it's like returning in a new role, and whether past performances influenced how she shaped her character.
🌸 I also spoke to Ami Okumura Jones and Victoria Chen, who play sisters Satsuki and Mei in the stage adaptation of My Neighbour Totoro. We discussed their first experiences with the iconic Studio Ghibli film, how it influenced their performances, the audience’s magical reactions each night, and the incredible impact of the puppetry throughout the show. Plus—do they carry that sibling bond off-stage too?
🎤 Finally, I caught up with Canadian comedian Sean Collins, who now calls... Gosport home! We chatted about his recovery from a heart attack just six weeks ago, how it’s made him even more grateful to be doing what he loves, and people’s unexpected reactions to the fact that he’s sober.
Thanks as always for making it this far—your support means everything. I’ll be taking a short break from both the podcast and the radio shows, but I’ve got loads more brilliant interviews ready to go. Keep an eye on my socials for a few sneak peeks.
Until then, don’t forget to like, subscribe, share and—most importantly—have a great week!
