Express FM shares extensive Icebreaker Festival coverage plans

Express FM is preparing for its biggest ever Icebreaker Festival as we give YOU backstage access using the power of radio and social media.

Now in its eleventh year, the award-winning music festival takes place next Saturday (1st February) and hosts over 100 acts across multiple venues and pubs on Albert Road and Elm Grove in Southsea with wristband entry. You can see the full line-up here.

It all gets underway at 11am as Ian McGuiness presents Express FM's Icebreaker Warm-Up with an hour of great tunes from those part of this year's festival line-up. This will be followed by TEN hours of live radio bringing you interviews with the artists and anyone else involved with making the magic happen.

By following Express FM on Facebook, Instagram and X, we'll bring you even closer to the action with exclusive photo and video content all throughout the day.

What's more, as Express FM listeners on 93.7 FM and DAB tune in to hear Pompey take on Burnley at Fratton Park from 3pm, for the first time ever you can continue to hear us broadcasting live from Icebreaker Festival online and via the Express FM app between 3pm and 5pm.

Team Leader for Express FM At Icebreaker 2025, Jon Brown, said: "We are thrilled and absolutely delighted to be teaming up with the brilliant folks at Icebreaker Festival again, a local festival that has gone from strength to incredible strength.

"Their dedication and focus on championing local artists and supporting homegrown bands and venues has made such a significant impact on the Portsmouth music scene and is held at a time which can often be challenging for musicians, event promoters, venue owners and managers alike.

"What Mike and his partners continue to do year in, year out to celebrate and shout loudly about the phenomenal array of truly talented artists the city has to offer, is a true testament of dedication that shines a spotlight on our city's brimming music hub of which we are all very proud.

"We are honoured to be Icebreaker Festival's Media Partner for another consecutive year. Whether that be through insightful, entertaining and uplifting interviews over the course of the months leading up to the campaign across our daytime schedule or through our many hours of live coverage throughout the event on the day, we are grateful to our team of presenters and on-site contributors and to Mike and his team of brilliant staff for what we feel will be another excellent year for the festival."
