Danielle Rowe and Jay Sadler Preview FAWNL Semi-Final Encounter

Pompey Women captain Danielle Rowe and head coach Jay Sadler look ahead to Sunday’s clash with Nottingham Forest.

Earlier this week, The Football Hour host Jake Smith caught up with the Blues pair to gather their pre-match thoughts with the countdown to kick-off ticking on.

Club captain Danielle Rowe told Express FM: “It's proven that we can compete with the teams in the Championship so if we play like that (against the London City Lionesses in The FA Cup in January), then I have absolutely no doubt that we'll be okay on Sunday.

“We've never been in this position before. This is my 5th season at Portsmouth and we've never even been anywhere close to reaching a national cup final so of course that does come with added pressure, of course it comes with added nerves but at the same time we are just trying to see it as another game.

"There's so much to play for and I genuinely think that we can get to the Final."

Head coach Jay Sadler also offered his thoughts ahead of the big match at Halbrooke Stadium: “If we bring the best version of us then we can compete against any team.

"Let's park the league for a minute. This is a welcome distraction, we want to go to a cup final.

"We all know we've got the quality."

Jay’s chat with Jake can be replayed in full here:

A special edition of Pompey Live will be on air to provide full pre-match build-up, half-time analysis and post-match reaction, as well as exclusive commentary from 1 O’Clock on Sunday afternoon (March 5th) - Kick-off: 14:00.
