TEXT

The Blues got back to winning ways after a 3-1 victory over Millwall on home soil.

Keeping that momentum up we head up north to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United.

MANAGER

Chris Wilder is in the dugout for the Blades for his third spell following the sacking of Rubén Sellés back in September.

After an extensive playing career, he became a manager back in 2001 with Alfreton Town. He also managed Halifax Town, Oxford, Northampton, Middlesbrough and Watford. Wilder won promotion via play-offs from the Conference Premier with Oxford in 2010 and League Two champions with Northampton.

Wilder previously led the club to a record-breaking League One title success and promotion to the Premier League.

The former United player nearly grabbed a second promotion to the Premier League in the 24/25 campaign but was denied due to a late minute Sunderland goal in the play-off finals.

After 3 months away, Wilder is back at S2.

ONE TO WATCH

Our one to watch is Callum O’Hare.

A product of the Aston Villa academy, he spent 15 years at the club having signed his first professional contract in 2015. O’Hare had loan spells at Carlisle and Coventry before making the move to Coventry permanent in 2020.

The number 10 spent 4 seasons with the Sky Blues having made 162 league appearances, netting 17 times. O’Hare refused to sign a new contract which led him to Bramall Lane.

Signing a 4 year contract with the Blades, O’Hare scored in both legs of the play-off semi final against Bristol city securing a record 6-0 win on aggregate.

So far this campaign he has 4 goals and 3 assists.

TOP SCORER

Tyrese Campbell is the leading goalscorer in S2.

Campbell started his professional career with Stoke, scoring 36 goals in 164 games. He had a loan spell with Shrewsbury Town before leaving Stoke for Sheffield United.

The forward scored his debut goal for the Blades in a 2-0 victory over his former club Stoke. He also scored the opening goal in the play-off final last season.

This campaign the number 23 has scored 5 goals and has 2 assists. 2 of those goals have come in the recent Steel City Derby.

CURRENT FORM

Wilder’s side are currently 22nd in the relegation zone. 1 point behind Oxford in 21st and 4 points ahead of Norwich in 23rd.

An unexpected start to the season so far for the Blades with 11 defeats from the opening 16 league matches.

Can John Mousinho's side build-up a winning streak?
