The Blues have today completed the permanent signing of midfielder Ebou Adams from Derby County.

Whilst the fee is typically "undisclosed", reports have suggested that the fee is in the region of £500,000.

Adams signs on a 2-and-a-half-year deal and becomes the club's second signing of the window, following the loan arrival of Millenic Alli on Wednesday afternoon.

The 30-year-old Gambian international plays in midfield and was an integral part of Derby County's promotion from League One as runners-up to Pompey in 2023/24.

Following that successful loan spell with The Rams, Adams' move to Pride Park was made permanent in the summer of 2024 and he was also instilled as captain, going on to help secure the club's Championship status with a 19th place finish whilst winning both the supporters' and players' 'Player of the Season' awards in 2024/25.

In total, he made 89 appearances for Derby, scoring 8 goals.

Pompey boss John Mousinho told official club media in a statement: "We're delighted to get this deal over the line and bring in a proven Championship player.

"He's performed highly at this level over the past couple of seasons and is someone we've come up against a number of times.

"Ebou will provide a huge amount of energy and athleticism in the middle of the park and I'm looking forward to working with him.

"He was the club captain at Derby and has a lot of leadership qualities, so we feel that he's a massive addition to the squad."

Adams will wear the number 38 shirt for the club.
