The competition launches on Friday 5th December when we’ll ask you the first of fourteen questions, one per day, right up until Thursday 18th December.

To give yourself the best chance of winning, you can enter the draw once every day between the 5th and 18th December (a maximum of fourteen entries) by submitting the correct answer to each day’s question on the Grand In Your Hand page at expressfm.com.

The questions will not be published anywhere other than when we read it out on the radio, first at 7:10am weekdays and 8:10am weekends - but have no fear if you don't catch it at that time as we'll be repeating it throughout the day on Express FM!

Ian James will then pull the name of our lucky winner out of a stocking at 8:10am on Friday 19th December and call them LIVE on Express Breakfast. If you answer within five rings, you could be £1,000 richer this Christmas, thanks to our amazing friends at The Queens Hotel Portsmouth!

Terms and conditions apply:

• Entrants must be 18 or over and live within a PO postcode.
• Each weekday competition opens at 7:10am and closes at 11:59pm.
• Each weekend competition opens at 8:10am and closes at 11:59pm.
• Entrants can submit up to fourteen entries between Friday 5th December 2025 and Thursday 18th December 2025.
• Winners of this competition cannot enter more than once per day.
• All submissions on any given day must correspond to that day’s question.
• Entries after the competition closing time won't count.
• A winner will be selected at random.
• The winner will first be contacted by phone at around 8:10am on Friday 19th December 2025 and broadcast live on the radio from the point at which this phone call is answered.
• If the first succesful entrant does not answer their phone, we will select another winner at random.
• If we cannot get hold of a winner after the initial phone call, another entrant may be selected at random.
