Running The City - supporting Portsmouth Hospitals Charity

Join Express FM in Running The City for Portsmouth Hospitals Charity Cancer Services Fund in this year's Great South Run!

With its flat route, this 10-mile run is perfect for both beginners and experienced runners.

While on your run, you'll take in some spectacular views of the Isle of Wight, the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Southsea Castle and more.

Portsmouth Hospitals Charity raises funds to make a positive difference for patients, their families and the staff who support their care. It aims to help improve facilities, purchase equipment and support research and innovation.

Express FM's Dave Joyce is Running The City

Express FM weekday presenter, Dave Joyce, was diagnosed with throat cancer two years ago.

Owing to the treatment and care he received from the Oncology department at Portsmouth's QA Hospital, Dave was given the all clear six months later.

This has inspired Dave to give back to the Cancer Services Fund and participate in the Great South Run for Portsmouth Hospitals Charity.

To support Dave in Running The City, visit his JustGiving page here.

How to set up your JustGiving page

Click here for a video tutorial to assist you with setting up your fundraising page.

Start on this link to create your page and select Yes, I'm Fundraising For A Charity.

Under Choose a cause you'd like to support, type Portsmouth Hospitals Charity and select it from the list.

Select I’m taking part in an event and click next. Type Great South Run 2024 and you will be presented with two options of the same name - select the one with more fundraisers counted under the title.

The next page will ask how much money you want to raise. The minimum sponsorship for this event is £160.

You will then be able to personalise your page. An automatic page title will be generated and why you are raising money. If you want to add more to this you can. You can also add a different cover photo if you wish.

The last part is to launch your page. Once you click this button underneath the summary, your page will be live.
