Portsmouth Football Club have today announced the signing of youngster Yang Min-hyeok on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 19-year-old will spend the entirety of the 2025/26 campaign with the Blues after spending time with Spurs in South Korea during pre-season.

Min-hyeok came through the youth ranks of Gangwon FC in the K League, graduating in 2024. In July of that year, he became the youngest-ever recipient of the K League's Player of the Month award.

On the 28th of July, 2024, the South Korean agreed to join Tottenham Hotspur on a 6-year deal and ended up joining Queens Park Rangers on loan this January for the second half of the Championship season.

He came off the bench in the second half to play against Portsmouth for QPR back in February in a match which ended 2-1 to the Blues.

On the international stage, Min-hyeok has represented South Korea at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup and AFC Under-17 Asia Cup before earning his first cap for the senior side back in March, running out in a World Cup qualifying stalemate with Jordan.

Speaking with the club's official media channel, head coach John Mousinho said: "Yang was an extremely highly rated player when he first came over to join Spurs in January.

"He then went straight out on loan to QPR and enjoyed a really strong impact with them in the Championship.

"I remember having the privilege of watching him live on a Friday night game against Derby when he performed so well in a 4-0 victory before coming down to Fratton Park a week later.

"It's been a whirlwind few months for Yang since he arrived in England and we're excited to have him at Pompey.

"We believe he's a real prospect and know that Tottenham think highly of him, so this is the next part of his development.

"He's direct and exciting in the way that he plays and can really help us achieve what we're looking for this season."

Min-hyeok follows in the footsteps of former Spurs players Dane Scarlett and Harvey White to spend time on loan at Portsmouth.

The youngster also becomes the club's second loan signing of the summer following the arrival of Florian Bianchini from Swansea City last week.
