A look at the key names and numbers powering Pompey's next opponent in the Championship.

The action doesn’t stop for Pompey, who after back-to-back league wins over Sheffield United and Norwich, prepare for a first visit to Molineux in over 17 years - Wolverhampton Wanderers the opponents.

MANAGER

Following the sacking of Rob Edwards in the summer, Wolves are now managed by Portuguese former Porto and Braga midfielder César Peixoto.

The 46-year-old arrived having never coached in England before but with plenty of experience in Europe nonetheless, starting his managerial career at homeland side Varzim Sport Club before going on to take charge of 6 other clubs in the space of just 7 years, including 2 separate spells at both Moreirense and Paços de Ferreira.

Since arriving at Molineux, Peixoto has achieved a win percentage of 53.85.

ONE TO WATCH

Keep an eye out this midweek for young striker Sean Neave, who claimed an assist during his last outing for the club.

The 19-year-old is on loan from Newcastle and has found himself needing to step up to the plate up front in the absence of experienced Championship dangerman and Mexico international Raúl Jiménez, who is currently out with a knee injury.

With a point to prove, the England youth international will be hungry to impress and bag his first goal for the club, with plenty of talented players around him to help toward that goal.

Wolves’ leading scorer after 10 Championship rounds is 22-year-old attacking midfielder Fer López, who has 5 goals so far.

1 of those was an important winner in a 1–0 home victory over arch rivals West Brom in the Black Country Derby back in September - A goal which ultimately led to Wolves securing their first league win over The Baggies since 2011.

The Spaniard’s latest strike came last Friday night against Burnley.

He wears the number 28 shirt and plays in behind the striker.

CURRENT FORM

That game against Burnley at Turf Moor was Wolves’ most recent and produced a 2-1 victory, though they had to come from behind to secure it following a first half strike from Jamie Vardy.

César Peixoto’s side had lost their previous 2 heading into Friday night, defeated by both Middlesbrough and Bolton.

They sit 8th in the table after collecting 5 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats from their opening 10 games, amassing 17 points.

Can the Blues pick up a 3rd league win in the space of a week?
