Survival Secured For Pompey Women

Jay Sadler's side have turned their season around and confirmed their status in the Barclays Women's Championship for 2025/26.

A 4-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Fratton Park, along with Sheffield United's 2-3 defeat at home to Southampton earlier in the day, condemns The Blades to relegation and confirms the safety of both Portsmouth and Blackburn.

Sophie Quirk and Meg Hornby were on target in the first half on the South Coast before Quirk notched a brace and Emma Thompson scored her first goal for the club in the second 45.

The season is now over for the Blues, who occupy 9th heading into the division's final day next weekend. Portsmouth have completed their 20 matches but the remaining 10 sides still have a game to play - This is a product of Reading's withdrawal at the start of the campaign.
