The Blues recorded their first stalemate of the season when they and Charlton Athletic locked horns at The Valley.
Despite both teams having chances in either half, neither Nathan Jones’ nor John Mousinho’s side could quite earn the 3 points.
The first draw of the season for Portsmouth means the Blues sit 18th in the Championship, on seven points, after 2 wins and 1 draw on matchday 7.
Mousinho made one change to the side that defeated Cardiff City 2-0 at Fratton Park last weekend.
Colby Bishop came in for the absent Marko Milovanović, while John Swift and Madiodio Dia returned to the squad on the bench.
There was an early break in play as Connor Shaughnessy collided heads with Addicks captain Lloyd Jones, with referee Andrew Kitchen later adding on the stoppage to the first half.
Pompey had chances to take a first-half lead, with Tyrese Shade coming close early on, but his heavy touch was easy enough for Wrexham loanee Arthur Okonkwo to collect.
Adrian Segečić, Rocco Robert Shein and Terry Devlin linked up on the right-hand side, where Devlin went on to pump in a cross that was blocked behind for a corner by a red shirt.
Daniel Bielica was kept moderately busy, as the Polish shot-stopper was on guard to keep out shots from both Karlan Grant and Miles Leaburn.
Tyrese Campbell also posed a threat on the left side of the Charlton attack, but Terry Devlin was able to keep the winger at bay.
Former Blues loanee Millenic Alli had chances to score against his former side, but Bielica did not have too much work to do to keep the attackers' efforts out.

Portsmouth tested Charlton straight for the kick-off, as Abu Kamara fired a shot on the edge of the 18-yard box, but Okonkwo was there to deny the Blues number 11.
Portsmouth made their first change on 69 minutes, as Ebou Adams came on for Shein in the middle of the park.
Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Zak Swanson soon also came on, with Shade and Jayden Meghoma coming off on the left flank.
Adams picked out Kamara, who then squared it to Bishop, whose flick onto Segečić teed up the Croatian attacker, but the Blues number 10’s effort was saved.
Kavuma-McQueen showed an encouraging threat on the left wing, as the Chelsea loanee drove the ball down the flank before drilling a low cross towards the back post, but Bishop could not quite get onto the end of it.
Both Leaburn and Adams were booked on 86 minutes, after a scuffle in the penalty box prior to an Addicks corner.
Swanson’s corner late on was blocked away by a Charlton shirt, where it fell to the boot of Kavuma-McQueen, but the 17-year-old’s ambitious attempt from distance went wide.
There were 3 minutes of added time, but neither side could find a winner, as it ended goalless in SE7.
