Portsmouth vs Ipswich POSTPONED

The Championship clash between Pompey and The Tractor Boys at Fratton Park has been called off due to a frozen pitch.

A new date for the fixture will be announced by both clubs in due course.

Referee Leigh Doughty had carried out a pitch inspection at 11am following overnight frost in the city, which raised alarm bells to the official.

Following the inspection of the playing surface, Doughty decided it was unsafe to stage the game.

The Blues now have 2 fixtures they are awaiting new dates for, following the abandonment of December's game against Charlton Athletic at The Valley.

Up next, John Mousinho's side take on Premier League leaders Arsenal at home next Sunday, the 11th of January, in the Third Round of The FA Cup.

Jake Smith will be back with The Football Hour tomorrow (January 5th) evening from 6pm with reaction to this postponement and talk of all things Portsmouth Football Club.
