Blues Recruit Goalkeeper Ryan Schofield

23-year-old shot-stopper signs for Portsmouth on a 1-year deal following his departure from Huddersfield Town at the end of last season.

The former England youth international made 33 league appearances for Huddersfield between 2017 - 2023 and was sent out on loan 6 times, most recently to Crawley Town for the second half of the 2022/23 campaign.

Head coach John Mousinho spoke to club officials about the signing: "Ryan excelled as a youngster at Huddersfield and featured more than 30 times in the Championship.

"He moved through the England age groups and is a great all-round keeper, with his shot-stopping a particular highlight.

"He's brave, a good size and can also kick well, so we're delighted to bring in someone of his pedigree with experience at a higher level."

Schofield becomes Pompey's 12th summer signing and his arrival is likely to pave the way for Josh Oluwayemi to secure a loan move away from Fratton Park.
