Former Blues loanee Abu Kamara has re-joined the club on a permanent deal from Hull City.
The move comes over 2 years since his last appearance for the club, a 2-0 away victory over Lincoln City at Sincil Bank on the final day of the 2023/24 League One title-winning season.
Kamara returns signing a 3-year deal at Fratton Park and will wear the no. 11 shirt.
During that loan spell at Fratton Park from Norwich City in 2023/24, the winger scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists.
He returned to The Canaries at the end of that campaign but was then sold to Hull City amid reported Portsmouth interest - For The Tigers, Kamara contributed to 5 goals in 40 games across a 2-year timespan.
Despite scoring some crucial goals toward the end of the 2024/25 campaign to keep Hull up in the Championship, the now 23-year-old was sent out on loan to Spanish La Liga outfit Getafe for 2025/26.
Blues head coach John Mousinho said: "We’re thrilled to have Abu back at Pompey – it’s no secret that we’ve wanted him to return for some time.
"I don’t need to tell you all about what he can offer the side, as you already saw it during that memorable season when he was here on loan.
"Abu returns a more experienced player, with Championship and top-flight Spanish appearances under his belt.
"Now we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do at this level in a Pompey shirt and I’m excited to start working with him again."
Kamara is the club's 7th signing of the summer - You can read up on the rest of this window's transfer news here.
