Slam at The Emporium

Join us to crown the GOAT of Pompey Poets as 12 hopeful wordsmiths battle it out to win a coveted place at the Cheltenham Poetry Festival.

'Slam at the Emporium' is a competitive spoken word event in front of a live audience. Over the course of three epic rounds our esteemed panel of judges (comprised of trailblazing creatives from the Portsmouth Scene) will score each performance based on style, dramatic impact and creativity. Only the top scorers will go on to compete in the next round until there is ONE remaining champion. Goosebumps!!!!

This wildly entertaining event is hosted by acclaimed poet Jonathan Aylett. Expect compelling and insightful creativity, whimsical word play and lots of fun!

HOW TO SLAM: Audience Members, we need YOU! Audience participation is a vital component to any good Poetry Slam. Your reaction to a performance supports judges in reaching a verdict. Cheer, clap and make some noise - just be respectful and kind. Hecklers will be strung up by their limericks.

'Slam at The Emporium' takes place on Thursday 20th February at The Emporium Bar Southsea. Show starts at 7.30pm. Free Entry.
