Shades of Scarlet Charity Gig

Shades of Scarlet are music students from HSDC. For their final major project, they are organising and performing a charity gig to raise money and awareness for the British Heart Foundation.

This charity is very close and personal to them as their bassist, Luna, has a serious heart condition (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy - HCM) that she was diagnosed with at the age of 12. The British Heart Foundation helps both directly and indirectly in a variety of ways, such as hosting CPR sessions for Restart a Heart Day in schools/workplaces, presenting booklets and information about conditions and surgeries in a way that isn’t intimidating, and placing life-saving defibrillators where they are needed most.
In addition to raising money, they would like to help break the stigma around not being able to live your life to the fullest once getting a diagnosis.

The charity gig takes place at The Wedgewood Rooms, Southsea, on the 30th of April where they will be performing banging hits from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and beyond. Supported by indie rock band, Bad Discipline, and acoustic cover band, Serenity, this is an evening you don’t want to miss.
