About Josh

Josh started volunteering in radio during the COVID pandemic and enjoyed it so much, he quit his job! Now he works in radio across the country, but Portsmouth and the south coast is where he calls home. Oh, and he loves a good jingle…

Favourite Song - Maps by Lesley Roy. It was Ireland’s Eurovision entry for 2021, written and performed by a queer artist. It’s all about how wherever your life leads you, whatever your situation and however you’ve changed over the years, you’ll not only find peace back home… but also internal peace when you embrace and love the brilliant you.

Favourite Gig - I’m not even embarrassed to admit this; I saw Japanese kawaii metal band Babymetal live when I was 17 in London and to this day it’s still the best gig I’ve ever been to — seeing scrawny teenagers (myself included) moshing with 40+ year olds to a song about “wanting chocolate” will never be beaten!

Favourite Film - Big Hero 6 - never bawled my eyes out so much! That or Oppenheimer (yes, seriously… okay Barbie as well, shhh).

Favourite Place in Portsmouth - The Hovercraft landing point by Clarence Pier! I used to spend HOURS watching it fly across the Solent as a kid!
