The Book of Records

THE BOOK OF RECORDS is the umbrella title for a series of themed music programmes that looks beyond the sounds that are emitted from headphones or speakers. It spotlights on those creative people responsible for producing the music we enjoy.

This popular award winning show has been part of the Saturday line-up for over five years.

On Christmas Eve 2011 the ''Musical CV' series ended with two hours of Jimi Hendrix - no Christmas hits in sight !

The Musical CV featured a variety of artists playing some obvious selections, cover versions, collaborations and rarities. The programme also offered entertaining and sometimes surprising trivia about the artists, the music and the production process.

Among those who have been featured -  Jimi Hendrix - Neil Innes - George Harrison - J J Cale - Tina Turner - Bruce Hornsby - Jim Steinman -Tom Petty - Chuck Berry - Paul Simon - Marty Robbins - Johnny Cash - Van Morrison - Elvis Costello - Mark Knopfler - Neil Finn - Paul Weller - Rick Wakeman - Willie Nelson - Billy Joel - Sir George Martin - Donald Fagen & Steely Dan, Jeff Beck - Jeff Lynne - Michael McDonald - Andrew Gold - Emitt Rhodes - Gerry Rafferty - Bob Dylan - David Bowie - The Who - The Kinks - Quincy Jones - Roy Orbison - The Rolling Stones - Take That - Paul McCartney - Paul Rodgers - Paul Carrack - Eric Clapton - Lulu - Elton John - Jools Holland - John Sebastian - John Lennon - Dusty Springfield - Annie Lennox - Stevie Wonder - Fleetwood Mac - Manfred Mann - Elvis Presley - The Shadows - Cliff Richard - Harry Nilsson - Simon & Garfunkel and there's no more to come - for now - BUT!

We'll be back with a new series of Musical CVs exclusively for Express FM in late 2012!
