Joel
Welcome to the official page for 93.7ExpressFM's new mid-morning show, 'Leigh and Joel In The Morning'.
Broadcasting live from 10 am until midday, Leigh and Joel, bring you a mixture of music - new and old - in between chatting about topical news stories in their own inimitable style.
Leigh and Joel like animal news. So much, they have a segment called 'Animal News'. If you have any animal news, please message them.
Leigh likes normal news, so Joel gave her a slot of her own. It's called LeighMaryStokes' News Story Of The Day.
Joel is nothing if not imaginative.
Leigh and Joel like local news. None more so than the continuing adventures of Buddy The Dog, who is photographed daily around the city of Portsmouth by his owner, Hayley Storey, and you have to guess where he is. Buddy can be found on twitter at this address - @buddyportsmouth - Leigh and Joel can be found on twitter at this address - @LeighAndJoel.
Leigh and Joel like twitter.
So, apart from the daily news, the animal news and Leigh's favourite news, Leigh and Joel also like to cover film news, music news (especially from great new local artists) and other such wonderful things from the world of popular culture.
They also cover serious issues, too. But that's mostly done over the phone.
If you'd like to be a part of the show with Leigh and Joel in the mornings, it's quite easy to do. Just listen to the song below and, as the youth say, get involved.
Here are some fun(nish) things we've been up to:

Meet Buddy Storey. On twitter, he's @BuddyPortsmouth. We've been following the Buddy's adventures over the last couple of weeks through the 'AboutMyArea Portsmouth' facebook page, and were overjoyed when he came in to visit us.
Everyday, Buddy's owner, Haley, takes him out for a walk and takes his picture by a well known local lanmdmark. The masses then clamour their way to the facebook page to guess where he is and win a prize. We loved this so much we even made a song for him. You'll have to tune in to hear it. We'll be playing it until Friday 17 Feb. From Monday 20th Feb, we'll be stalking Roger The Otter.

In further news, to try and improve on Joel's terrible eating habits we invited nutritionist, Julliette Kellow, onto the show to talk about the benefits of berries, more specifically, the blueberry. We discovered that the blueberry contains more antioxidants than most fruits. Yep, even oranges, apples and bananas. Who knew?
We thought February was the right time to talk about these things seeing as bad habits, after the January detox, will have probably kicked in.
Juliette was horrified by Joel's eating habits and suggested various easy recipes, including blueberry smoothies and options for pancakes (topical) some of which can be found here - http://www.seasonalberries.co.uk
Just after Juliette joined us on the phone, we received 3 more visitors baring joyous gifts that came in the shape of chocolate and banana muffins. Joel loves a cake and is a keen baker and, happily, the banana/chocolate combo is 100% his sort of muffin.
The three visitors in question were Leslie from Sainsburys in Farlington, Kate from Sainsburys' Head Office and Angie from the charity, Homestart Havant.
They came in - not only to tempt Joel with their wares - but to promote a series of projects, beginning with their team up with Angie that launches on Tuesday 21st Feb.
Please see http://www.homestart-havant.org.uk/ for details.
We'll be working closely with Leslie, Kate and Angie over the next few months, so we'll keep you updated on everything we're doing as it happens, but, for now here are a couple of recipes for you to get your teeth into.

The muffins were SO good, Joel ate two on top of his lunch and is going home to make more tonight.
Pictures and soundclips from both interviews will follow shortly, but we'd like to say a big thak you to Juliette, Leslie, Kate and Angie for this morning's fun.

Blissfields fun now!

We love Blissfields Festival. And Blissfields Festival loves us. When we're all together, there's alot of love in the room.
On Friday February 17th, Paul and Mel joined us on the phone from their home at Bradley Farm to talk about the first band announcements for 2012's festival and, also, the Road To Blissfields event that we're hosting down at The Edge of The Wedge (at The Wedgewood Rooms) on April 27th. Have a little listen.

We're pleased to announce that we'll be broadcasting live from Blissfields on friday June 29th from 10 until 12. We'll be in the Hidden Hedge, where, for the first time, artists will be playing throughout the day. We'll be booking some local acoustic artists to join us on the day and we're more than a little bit excited about this news.
We'll keep you updated with Blissfields news, but, please hit their website ( http://www.blissfields.co.uk ) and their facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/Blissfields ) and follow them on the twitter ( @blissfields ) .
And that is all.
Here's a pic of Paul and Mel looking hot.

Next up, following on from his brief chat with Judith Chalmers about 'Bleasure Stay' holidays, we'll be posting a photoshopped picture of what Joel imagines a holiday with Judith Chalmers would look like.
