Christmas Eve

After a special Christmas Music For The Soul with Gloria Miller, followed by two hours of festive favourites and dedications with Victoria Sleighburn, Noni Needs brings you an hour of traditional carols ahead of Midnight Mass at Portsmouth Cathedral (which is being shown on BBC One tonight). We’ll hear recordings from the Portsmouth Cathedral Choir.

Christmas Day

Start Christmas Day the Portsmouth way from 7am as Ian James & Noni Needs bring you a special festive edition of Express Breakfast.

Paul Marsh & Express Country’s Hannah Roper will be on-hand to spread Christmas cheer with entertaining chat, festive favourites and a sprinkling of Nashville influence sure to make one or two appearances.

Look out, there’s Barney Rubble about - it’s Joycer & Stokesy’s Christmas Knees-Up from 1pm! The boys will have three hours of your requests, dedications and laughs on a show fit for a King… literally, as you’ll be hearing from him at 3pm too.

Darren Gamblen & Love Southsea’s Lou Whitmore will be keeping you entertained from 4pm with festive tunes and Christmas games and they are joined by Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan.

From 6pm, The Football Hour at Christmas with Jake Smith and a whole host of guests keeps you posted on all things Pompey and the guys are looking ahead to our Boxing Day clash with Bristol Rovers.

Having blessed the Love Southsea and We Create Christmas markets with their presence and live broadcasts on Express this month, Lily Parke & Jon Brown round off Christmas 2023 in Portsmouth with three hours of festive fun and games alongside all your favourite Christmas tunes.

Boxing Day

Ian McGuiness is here from 8am to ease you into Boxing Day followed by Lily Parke from 11 and Pompey Live with uninterrupted commentary from the Memorial Stadium as the blues visit Bristol Rovers.

Popcorn at the ready from 6pm as Express FM is At The Pictures with Jon Brown and Paul Marsh - three hours of great songs from the big screen and fun-filled film-based conversation... try saying that after a few glasses of bubbly!

New Year's Eve

After reflections on 2023 and a look ahead to 2024 (including the likelihood of Pompey winning the league) with Jake on The Football Hour from 6pm, enjoy three hours of completely uninterrupted 80s and 90s classics on the Skool Daze New Year's Eve Party with Steve Randall - the legendary Portsmouth radio show now only on Express FM.

From 10pm-1am, see in 2024 with the legendary Portsmouth DJ Dave Joyce as he brings you 90 minutes of non-stop house classics and 90 minutes of retro soul - including the midnight bongs and Auld Lang Syne.

New Year's Day

Josh Bowness is live from 8am with some top tunes and a look ahead to 2024 in Portsmouth with a little help from some of your favourite Express FM presenters. Victoria Aburn & Lana Hall then team up from 11 with great songs and plenty of laughs to help your year get off to the best possible start.

From 2pm, Jake Smith & Henry Deacon bring you Pompey Live from Fratton Park as Stevanage visit the blues in their first League One clash of the year. We'll have live commentary as well as pre/post-match analysis.

The Composer Series with Jon Brown brings you another fascinating insight into the music of film, TV and gaming from 6 followed by The Soft Rock Show with Geoff Dorsett from 7pm.
