Rob Richardson is a musician who started writing in between the colossal gap between the soundcheck and the gig. He has had about ten short stories published, - and his latest writing success was the 2006 Betty Burton short story award. Over the last five years he has been placed and short-listed in several international competitions including Wells Writing.
Within the Portsmouth area he is the proud originator and organiser of WriteInvite, a unique vehicle of writing that has under its cosy umbrella The Live Short Story Competition (held at Rosies wine bar 7.30 for 8pm start; pre-booked short stories of no more than six minutes duration, anonymous vote for top three at end) and Write On The Night (themed writing over twenty minutes at The Sally Port, Old Portsmouth, and same voting). Listeners are very welcome.
The motivation for running WriteOn was to provide a link with WriteInvite. However, the show has become a real joy and much more than merely a link, it is starting to fuel the very real interest that exists towards stories in the area.
The host of the show - an exceedingly tall man - is passionate about ordinary people writing their extraordinary stories.
