Update 20 February
Well, the first of my new shows are out of the way and I've finally got round to doing an update. You can now join me from 11pm on a Sunday night until 1am on Monday morning.
We have the A to Z of 80s, Double Top and the Ultimate Top 5.
You can contact me by email on neilbradwell@expressfm.com!
Update 29th January
I seem to always do these updates when I should be working. Last week I was sitting in parents evenig waiting for my appointments to arrive and this week I am half way through marking a pile of books and I had to get onto the computer to wake myself up again. Don't you hate it when you can't keep your eyes open when you're trying to do something. At least I don't do that when I'm driving any more!
This weekend I am visiting Portsmouth (first time for the new car and Georgina driving me, gotta get used to being driven around!) so you can catch me LIVE between 12 & 3. There will be a big announcement about my show just before 2 so make sure you're listening and interacting, it'll be great to chat to you.
See you at 12 tomorrow!
Update 21st January
It's been a while since my last update! Keeping this blog up to date was something I really wanted to do, but just like the gym I'm full of good intentions. Since I last wrote I have a new car and I've been ill. I know you must have so much sympathy for me......well maybe not!
Now the snow is gone it just feels strange being able to walk properly again, I'm sure that I've developed muscles by walking on the ice - one day I'l have a body like Mr. T's (I mean when he was at his prime, although he probably still has a better body than me even though he is old!)
On the show this week you have an extra hour of me, oooh the excitement! Join me, Saturday 12 - 3!
Hugs & kisses until next time.
Update 21st December
All the snow and ice we've had here in Maidstone has been lovely, apart from the struggle to get to work. Well, I'm OK I suppose as I'm now on holiday (not that I like to rub it in) but my partner, Georgina, had to get to wok in Folkestone by train this morning as I'd booked the car in for service. It only takes 45 minutes by car from here to Folkestone but it takes nearly double that on the train as you have to travel in the wrong direction for 20 minutes to get a connection...how wierd!
This morning she left for the station at 6:30, while I just turned over and went back to sleep. I was rather surprised to find her coming back through the front door an hour later having got no futher that the station five minutes walk away. The train company had refunded her ticket and told her that there were no trains. There had been less that a tenth of an inch of snow overnight - bloomin' madness. I had to drive her to work in the end before getting the car to the garage rather late.
I felt good about myself from that point as I had done my good deed, but I was not rewarded for my good nature. As I thanked the garage for being patient in allowing me to hand the car in late I found a patch of black ice and ended up on my bottom in a rather 'You've Been Framed' style. Great!
In hindsight, I don't think I want a white Christmas any more. Once again, HUMBUG!!!
Update 8th December
It's amazing how easily you get used to the creature comforts in life. The breakdown of my boiler at home had me panicing within minutes - how could I go to work without a shower? It was then that I realised the complexity of my modern heating system became clear. I looked in the 80 page booklet about how I might fix this and found that my central heating system had lost pressure (quite why that stops the boiler making hot water is anyones guess) and needed refiling. All of my other properties had a tank that just refiled the radiators.
After two hours I found a tiny grey tap that filled my system up very quickly and all was good. What I don't understand is why the taps were so well hidden - I'd taken panels off the wall, looked in every cupboard and even tried to look under the floor! My message to gas fitters everywhere, please don't hide your knobs!
I'll see you down at Gunwharf on Saturday for another winter outside broadcast!
Update 5th December
I hate shopping so very much. I have only just managed to buy my Christmas cards and that was stressful enough. It's that annoyance of getting around the shops while fighting with the 'ooh look at that' lot that stop every few seconds to review all the shelves just in case they find something good. When you do actually manage to get to the tills and find that only half of them are open dispite the queue coveing half the shop, that creates a huge amount of moaning!
This year I think that I'll have no choice but to buy all prezzies from Internet retailers as that will at least mean I wont have to queue.....in fact that isn't quite true as I always seem to miss the delivery of the parcel and end up in the queue in the delivery office instead. I love Christmas, honest....HUMBUG
Update - 24th November
Viruses are a real pain and seem to rule my life at the moment. Having just cleared a large selection of them from my work laptop (which then passed to my home PC) they have somehow got to me.
I really am very poor when I'm ill. I think that the whole world is unfair and that everything is against me. I expect dinner cooked and even my paperwork to be done for me. It never happens of course but it is worth a try. My only hope is that my voice returns to normal for the Historic Dockyard broadcast this weekend, I'll be more rubbish than normal otherwise.
Don't forget that messages of sympathy for the terrible illness I have can be sent to neilbradwell@expressfm.com. I'll play you a song as long as you show you care lol.
Speak to you Saturday......
Update - 17th November
I couldn't believe my luck at the weekend, there I was in the blog below wishing for a windy day in Southsea and it happened! I even managed to present the first 40 minutes of my show from the seafront. Maybe I can get whatever I wish for if I put my mind to it, perhaps I'll have a bulging bank account and hit my target weight by the weekend. Somehow I think not!
I'm spending this weekend at home in Maidstone after the excitement of last weekend, but I'm looking forward to being back in Portsmouth for the Festival of Christmas at the Historic Dockyard on the 29th & 29th of November. Maybe that will give me a bit of Christmas spirit and I'll allow Georgina to put up the tree at home early this year. Maybe I'll even do my Christmas shopping before all the good stuff has sold out this year.
Anyway, on the show this Saturday at Midday, an interesting request on the 90s lounge (all hail the Vengaboys), 1988 is the Double Top year and I prove that not all of my vinyl collection is trashy pop...well not quite!
Update - 9th November
I have a very strange feeling of loss at the moment as I spend my first autumn away from Southsea. I have a real interest in bad weather on the sea and I used to love going down to the seafront in Southsea to watch the waves break over the esplanade and cover all the cars in the pub car park with salt water (maybe that's why my car is falling apart now!). It's also great fun watching the Fast Cats and the Hovercraft battle against the will of nature.
This year I have experienced the wind and the rain, but it just feels empty watching the rain fall on an empty car park and hearing the wind whistle through the balconies of our lovely building site that surrounds my home in Maidstone.
I return to Portsmouth to visit this weekend and, although I don't want to wish the rain on anyone, I really want it to be windy so I can feel the excitement of the weather once more!

About Me
After 2 great years at ExpressFM I am moving away from the area to Maidstone. You'll still be able to hear me on air and I will still be visiting the area for outside broadcasts, so you'll never be rid of me.
I lived in Southsea for 12 years (apart from a year in Woking...less said about that the better!) with my partner Georgina.
This year I will be on air whenever I can covering for your favourite presenters! You can also find me at some of Express FM's outside broadcasts.
My love of radio goes back many years with my first show being broadcast on Radio Caroline (the shortwave service) when I was just 15. 16 years on I still have a real love for broadcasting!
